IMMIGRATION: Ship manifest is hard to read as it is not a good scan.
On his ship manifest Grandpa lists the town of his birth as Bogdanowka. Last residence as Zary or Zory ?oryfowieckie. Still looking for these places he named. I found his Baptismal record in Narol, Galicia, though.

IMMIGRATION: He came in 1911 on the SS Amerika and visited a cousin by the name of ?aranka? Wazna in Providence Rhode Island, first. Lived where Grandma's relatives lived (Piotr and Olga Skibicka Wolanczyk) and stayed with relatives in Buffalo, New York. Piotr and Olga married in the 1940's so am not sure as to what relatives he stayed with yet. The address in 1913 that Grandma listed for Grandpa is hard to read but looks to be 517 Howard St. in Buffalo.

NOTES: From Debbi Pohlman while interviewing relatives-
Grandpa was in the Prussian army. He came home on leave and decided to
leave to come to America. He came in 1910 or 11 on the "SS Amerika" and
stayed with relatives in Buffalo, New York with family. He worked and made enough money to bring Grandma, John and Grandpa Michael over. Grandma, John and Michael came on the SS Columbia.

RESIDENCE: 517 Howard St. Buffalo, Erie Co. New York situated in
Wards 11 and sits in the south west part of Buffalo and runs east and west. 517 would be on the corner of Howard and Metcalf or one building off from the corner. I found a 1894 map of the blocks there but 517 was not built yet. The area has many shops, railroads, slaughter houses, the stock yard and other shops in the area.
